Fitness influencer roasted over glaring spelling error in latest sponsorship post: ‘How have you not been cancelled honestly’

Christie Swadling came under fire for a glaring spelling mistake on Monday as she attempted to spruik a fashion brand.

The fitness influencer, 27, posted a video to her Instagram promoting a sale at activewear store Keep That Pump, but followers could only talk about one thing.

Jumping onto a recent TikTok trend, the YouTube star wrote on a piece of cardboard that she’s ‘looking for a man in finance’ but spelt ‘finance’ as ‘fiance’.

Her fans wasted no time roasting the lifestyle and fitness vlogger for the mistake.

‘It baffles me that you not only spelt it “fiance” but also retraced over it multiple times and still didn’t realise?’ one person wrote.

They added: ‘Finance isn’t a trick word, it’s spelt how it sounds… How have you not been cancelled honestly hahaha.’

‘A man in fiancé???’ another user commented, while someone else said: ‘The typo for finance.’

Others simply wrote the word ‘fiance’ alongside several laughing emojis as Christie asked one commenter to ‘ignore’ the spelling mistake.

It comes just days after Christie’s fans expressed concern over the controversial influencer’s changing voice.

Christie is a New South Wales-based fitness blogger who overcame an eating disorder and now promotes a healthy and active lifestyle.

But within the span of five years, the blonde’s voice has deepened drastically and left her followers wondering why.

Influencer watchdog account @before.after_influencers, who shares mostly Australian influencers and celebrity transformations, posted a series of videos revealing Christie’s higher-pitched voice in April 2019 followed by a video of her speaking in March 2024.

In the recent video, Christie’s voice sounds more hoarse and deep.

‘Do you think it just comes down to natural ageing and maturation?’ the account asked in the caption.

‘Is the video slowed down in the last ones because she’s also speaking a lot slower?? Maybe its a health thing?’ one user suggested in the comments.
