Nova radio host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald looks unrecognisable as he shows off his bushy lockdown beard
It appears lockdown has gotten to Ryan ‘fitzy’ Fitzgerald.
The Nova radio host looked unrecognisable as he rocked a bushy pepper beard in an Instagram video shared last week.
It’s far cry from the usual clean cut look Fitzy, 44, has maintained over the years, but it seems the former AFL player has let his facial hair grow as he’s ‘bored’ in lockdown.

In the video, Fitzy tells his followers that he’s decided to prank his sons, Hewy and Lenny, over their obsession with AFL trading cards, to keep himself entertained.
‘My boys have been searching for the Rory Sloane Adelaide Crows set,’ he says. ‘There’s four in there and if you get all four you get a 24 carat gold-tipped card.’
After revealing he got the four cards in a trade, the bearded radio star put the set into opened card packs and resealed them for his sons to open.

The video then cuts to Fitzy’s sons excitedly discovering the rare set hidden inside the packs, oblivious to the fact that their father planted them in there.
The Nova host and former Sydney Swans player later tells his sons that the pack opening was a ‘stitch up’ and that he ‘put the Rory Sloane cards in the packets!’
‘I know,’ replies Hewy, unimpressed. ‘You showed us the video of you putting them in.’
‘Ahh, just play along will you guys?’ Fitzy jokingly says. ‘Got you a beauty, ey?’

In the caption of the Instagram video, Fitzy asks Crows player Rory Sloane to ‘deliver this card (the gold-tipped card with his profile on it) when we get out of lockdown.’
Rory comments, ‘You must be bored mate!! Should have gotten me to sign them.’
Fitzy amusingly responds, ‘There’ll be a sharpie shoved in your face very soon Sloaney!!’
