Police are searching for five men who allegedly used garden stakes to rob a McDonalds before destroying property and fleeing early this morning.
The incident occurred at a McDonalds in the Melbourne suburb of Essendon the Herald Sun reported.
The five men allegedly stormed the business and terrorised staff before stealing money and the mobile phone and debit card of one staff member.

The McDonalds robbery was only one of a rash of incidents which occurred this morning including a series of ram raids on suburban shops where alcohol and money was stolen.
As well as a violent home invasion which had two men beaten over the head with baseball bats in the suburb of Keysborough.
It’s alleged the men then destroyed computers and windows with the garden stakes before fleeing in a small blue car
It is alleged a group of men broke into a suburban home before assaulting two of the seven occupants with baseball bats.
It’s understood the group broke into the house form the rear before the violent rampage began.
