BREAKING NEWS: At least one dead and two others in critical condition after ‘major explosion’ in Baltimore destroyed three homes and trapped victims, including children, under the rubble

At least one person has been killed and another two are in a critical condition after a ‘major explosion’ destroyed at least three homes in Baltimore and trapped victims, including children, under the rubble. 

Baltimore Firefighters confirmed one person was pronounced dead at the scene and another person is still trapped under the debris near Reisterstown Road Monday morning.

Two other victims have been pulled from the rubble and remain in a critical condition.

The victims’ ages and identities are not yet known.

Baltimore police scanners said they were responding to a ‘mass casualty’ that has impacted a three block radius and ‘completely destroyed’ three homes. 

The number and extent of casualties is not known at this time.  

‘We are borderline mass casualty at this point. This explosion has affected at least a three block radius up here,’ a police scanner said.

‘Three dwellings completely destroyed.’  

Horrifying images on social media show homes destroyed and reduced to rubble in the area. 

Firefighters were pictured at the scene raking through the debris as dust filled the air.
