Sandra Jeenie Kwon, who works in Cabin Crew for Emirates and is based in Dubai, has racked up more than 7 million followers sharing tips and tricks of flying.

And in one video, she’s revealed the trick to getting the best seat while flying economy – which is an aisle seat halfway through the back section of the plane.

In the clip posted to Instagram and TikTok, Sandra explains that on a standard flight with 52 rows and a six columns  the best seats are 49C, D, F and G because they’re far away from a toilet and in the aisle.

She added that getting a seat towards the back of the plane are best because the plane fills up from the front first, meaning you’re more likely to get a row to yourself.

However, she said not to go in the back five rows as they’re close to the toilet and will ‘smell like s***’.

In a step-by-step process of elimination she explains: ‘The first one is a no brainer, the middle seats suck. So let’s get rid of middle seats.

‘The back rows of every section do not recline, so lets get rid of those.

‘I’m not a tall person so I don’t need these emergency seats. There’s also no where to store your personal belongings and they have those flimsy tables and TV screens.

‘Due to weight distribution of the plane, they always fill up the front first, so for that reason you’re more likely to get a row to yourself at the back. And for those odd I prefer the back.

‘Seats near the toilet stink like s***, so let’s have a five row buffer.

‘Next is a personal preference, I hate asking someone else to move so I can use the toilet, so I eliminate the window.

‘And because meals are served front to back, you have a higher chance of getting your meal choice at the front

‘So through process of elimination my ideal set choice is seat 49 C/D/F/G ‘.

Jeenie’s comments comes as a travel expert revealed a simple hack to bag the whole row on a plane when travelling in a pair – and booking row 13, making use of the superstitions surrounding the number, is one of the tricks.

Explaining her hack in a TikTok video that has gone viral, with more than 260,000 views, Chelsea says that the other vital ploy is to book a window and an aisle seat, leaving the middle seat free.

The theory is that passengers are less likely to book a seat in between two strangers.

She adds that the chances increase more by booking row 13, as people tend to avoid it for superstitious reasons.
