Florida Gators guard Bennett Andersen’s wide-eyed interview with a female reporter has gone viral online – with fans convinced the March Madness star ‘fell in love’.

After Florida’s 87-71 Sweet 16 victory over the Maryland Terrapins on Thursday, ESPN Gainesville’s Talia Baia made her way into the locker room at Chase Center to speak with Andersen.

Baia initially congratulated the Gators hero, also known as ‘buckets’, for making a two-pointer in the victory and helping his team advance to the Elite Eight stage.

And as he answered a number of questions, fans couldn’t help but notice how smitten Andersen looked as he beamed at her throughout the interview.

‘I think a young man fell in love,’ one user said on X.

Another joked: ‘he was looking at her like she was the moon and stars’.

‘That man is in love lol,’ wrote a third.

‘My man found his soul mate,’ a fourth fan quipped about Andersen.

While another commented: ‘Bros better than me, I would’ve folded’.

Following the win over Maryland, Andersen and Florida got the better of Texas Tech in the Elite Eight on Saturday night.

While he didn’t make it onto the court in the game, his Gators teammates earned a precious 84-79 victory largely thanks to a stunning 30-point haul from Walter Clayton Jr.

Thomas Haugh was also on hand with 20 points, with Alijah Martin putting up 10.

The Gators must now wait to find out their opponents in the Final Four of this year’s NCAA Men’s Tournament next Saturday.
