Florida man arrested for stalking ex-girlfriend, sending 200 texts a day

Florida police have arrested a man for aggressively stalking his ex-girlfriend and sending her up to 200 texts and Facebook messages a day.

Michael Taylor Debaun, 25, was charged with aggravated stalking on July 10 because of the ‘credible threats’ he made against the woman and her family, according to court documents.  

Debaun allegedly harassed the woman from August 1 to September 8, 2017, according to the Gainseville Sun.

The Riverview man and the victim were said to have dated for approximately three years. 

The victim said he still managed to find ways to contact her, even after he blocked him on Facebook and changed her number.

The High Springs Police Department added that some of the latest messages from Debaun turned violent and included threats against the woman and her family.

‘I’m going to murder your (expletive) family,’ one text message read, the affidavit states. 

‘Your brother, (name omitted) is first. You won’t have a home to go back to.’ 

A different message stated: ‘I’m going to ruin you forever, I hope you’re scared. You think I’m going to let you go, but I’m never gonna. Nothing is going to stop me. Sorry but you’re mine.’ 

A circuit court ordered Debaun not to contact the victim.

His arraingment is scheduled for August 14 and he is currently on bond for $100,000.
