Some might say cheese is the glue that pulls a whole burger together, the ribbon on a perfect Christmas gift, the cherry on top of a sundae full of meat, tomato, lettuce.
And it should come as no surprise that the cheeseburger has its own national day, joining the ranks of ice cream, tacos, and margaritas.
While National Cheeseburger Day may not yet have the same presence of Christmas, some of Australia’s biggest burger restaurants still found a reason to celebrate.

Instagram lit up on Monday with mouth-watering burgers dripping with cheese, piled to the sky with patties, bacon, and plenty of American cheddar.

Over at The Burger Garage, also in Sydney, is an incredible creation with a whopping four patties – all drenched with luminous yellow cheese and topped with bacon.

But the chain is also celebrating by bringing back the Bae of Fire burger for the special day, a beautiful monster with a slice of bacon slithering out like a tongue.
The burger comes completely with two patties, double cheese, onion rings, truffle mayo, and a special BBQ sauce.
Some restaurants, like YOMG and Little Oscar in Melbourne, kept it classic, doling out their double cheeseburgers with double beef and cheese for the big day.
