He’s in Australia to tour with his rock band Foo fighters.
But Dave Grohl took time out from his frantic schedule on Friday to volunteer for Melbourne’s The Big Umbrella, a street kitchen charity for the homeless.
The famed 54-year-old hitmaker was spotted serving food and spreading some Christmas cheer at the kitchen’s site in Federation Square.
Grohl put in long hours on the food line before flying out for the Foo Fighters next show in Sydney reported The Advertiser on Friday.
It was an especially impressive effort from Grohl, since it came afters Foo Fighters had just completed packed shows at Melbourne’s AAMI Park on Monday and Wednesday.

According to its official website The Big Umbrella, established in 2010, was set up to support the homeless and ‘food insecure.’
It’s now recognised as as an emergency food relief organisation ‘supporting communities affected by wildfires, floods, earthquakes, storms and pandemics,’ the website explains
This not the first this time the Ohio born rocker has taken to the streets to help out for a charity.
In March, the much-loved frontman put on a BBQ for the homeless in Los Angeles. \
Grohl brought a meat smoker and overnight kit to The Hope Mission for the occasion and made ribs, pork, brisket, cabbage, coleslaw and beans for the meal.

The Learn to Fly singer spent a total of 16 hours preparing the food.
Meanwhile, Foo Fighters arrived Down Under last week ahead of their first national tour of the country since 2018.
The rock band were forced to cancel their 2022 tour of Australia after the sudden death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins.
The rocker died suddenly in his hotel room in March last year at the age of 50, just hours before Foo Fighters were due to perform at a festival in Colombia.
Foo Fighters kicked off their Aussie stadium shows in Perth on November 29 and have already completed their scheduled dates in Adelaide and Melbourne.
Their next show will be in Sydney on Saturday December 9, followed by Brisbane December 12.
