Household appliances were thrown out on the front lawn, while photos show a lamp hanging off a curtain, a table missing two of its legs an other furniture smashed through the windows.

Police were called to the house on Short Street about 11.30pm after neighbours reported hearing yelling and the sound of smashed windows.

‘Just the sound of popping windows, just like bang, bang, bang one after another, just started smashing the house up, it was just chaos,’ neighbour Erik Hauger told Perth Now.

Officers found about 30 people in the vicinity of the house when they arrived.

The owner of the property was also there and told police he had rented out the house for four days as a ‘short-stay’ accommodation.

He rents out six short-term stay properties in Perth’s Cannington region, and said this is the first time something like this has happened in eight years of business.

The landlord plans to charge the extortionate damage bill to his guests’ credit cards.

Police took five juveniles into custody but none of them have been charged.
