- Harley Reid and Yasmin Duursma set to walk red carpet
- Young couple went public with the relationship in April
Harley Reid and childhood sweetheart Yasmin Duursma are planning to take their relationship to the next level by making their Brownlow Medal red carpet debut together this week.
Rumours about Reid’s relationship with the Carlton AFLW star started to circulate back in March when the pair were spotted sharing a kiss.
The couple went public with the romance over Easter, with Duursma uploading a cheeky TikTok of the new couple.
Now Duursma, who was childhood friends with Reid, has opened up about the relationship.
‘We met when he was 12 and I was 13 and he and my brother have been friends ever since and so have Harley and I,’ she told News Corp.
‘So when I moved back home from Adelaide and it was on the cards we decided to give it a go, and start talking and dating.
‘Then it ended up he got drafted away to West Coast and moved over, but we thought we might give it a go and keep going.
‘It’s not really that hard to be honest, they play in Melbourne quite often so I see him a lot more than I thought I would, it’s been fun.’

Reid, who played footy with Yasmin’s brother, also spoke about the new relationship as the couple prepare to walk the red carpet on Monday night.
‘They are a very talented family and I was lucky enough to play with Zane all throughout my juniors and knew Yas for awhile,’ he said.
‘My first year has had some huge opportunities come my way and I’m keen to keep getting involved and keep striving for better and it will be a good opportunity to experience my first Brownlow with Yas.’
Reid made headlines last year as the AFL No.1 draft pick after being selected as the nation’s top young talent by West Coast.
The 18-year-old Victorian midfielder, who hails from Tongala in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley region, is arguably the most-hyped draftee in history and viewed by many recruiters as a generational talent.
The teen sensation has been forced to defend himself throughout the year amid speculation he was less than happy to move to the other side of the country.

‘It was pretty annoying at times when they say it and they really haven’t even met you,’ Reid said.
‘It (the Eagles jumper) is on me now, so hopefully that puts a bit of word out there that I’m keen to go over there and get stuck into it.’
He is prepared for the instant celebrity status that will fall on his young shoulders.
‘It’s part of the journey I suppose and it’s pretty humbling too, but it’s motivation too to be a superstar and get in there and earn respect off the teammates,’ Reid said.
‘There’s a great young core group over there and a lot of experience.
‘There’s a lot of history behind that club too so I’m keen to get in there and hopefully influence that club and help them get back to the top.’
West Coast flew cult figure Nic Naitanui to Melbourne to present Reid with his new jumper.
Naitanui handed over the No.9 guernsey, which he and fellow Eagles great Ben Cousins wore during their illustrious careers.
