Footy star James Tedesco and his fiancée Maria Glinellis host their engagement party in Sydney

Sydney Roosters captain James Tedesco and his fiancée Maria Glinellis enjoyed their engagement party at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel in Sydney on Saturday.

The NRL star, 29, and his stunning longtime girlfriend looked absolutely smitten with one another in photos shared to Instagram, with Maria revealing her toned figure in a slinky white frock with a cut-out at the waist.

The couple, who announced their engagement in November, celebrated into the evening with cocktails, heartfelt speeches, a DJ and the cutting of a statement cake.

Wedding bells! Footy star James Tedesco, 29, and his glamorous fiancée Maria Glinellis looked every inch the loved-up couple as they hosted their engagement party in Sydney on Saturday (pictured)

James coordinated his attire with his ladylove, opting for a white polo shirt, teamed with a beige linen suit jacket on top, navy trousers and pristine white sneakers.

A table was laden with oysters and other gourmet delicacies for their guests to enjoy, while the decor included statement blooms.

Maria later traded in her stiletto heels for a comfy pair of sneakers as she danced the night away and took part in a traditional Greek plate smashing with her family.

James, who won the Dally M Player of the Year Award in 2019, told The Guardian Australia in 2020 what keeps him grounded.

‘I still stick really close to a lot of my friends outside of footy, that sort of keeps me grounded,’ he said.

The good news came just two weeks after James was fined $10,000 by the NRL following a night out in October where he was accused of yelling ‘Squid Games’ towards a woman of Vietnamese descent.

The skipper of the Tricolours allegedly shouted the reference to the hit South Korean Netflix series at Tiffany Trinh, 20, outside Bondi’s Beach Road Hotel.

That sparked an investigation from the NRL Integrity Unit, which didn’t prove any allegations of racist behaviour.

James was instead heavily fined for drunken public behaviour and ‘bringing the game into disrepute.’
