It continued the trend of early-finishing bouts for Hodges, but this time he was on the wrong end after winning his two previous fights inside a combined two minutes.

Shortly after the fight, Toronto Wolfpack and former Manly and Parramatta forward Lussick called out Barry Hall, who recently drew with former NRL star Paul Gallen in his first boxing bout.

‘I heard Barry Hall was looking for a fight, so if he’s keen we’ll try and work something out,’ said Lussick, who was making his debut.

Among those watching from ringside were rugby league stars Latrell Mitchell, Jack Wighton and Cody Walker and former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh.

The fight was the undercard for the much hyped Tim Tszyu versus Jack Brubaker bout.

Second generation boxer Tszyu continued his charge towards a world title belt over Brubaker.

Trainer for Brubaker Jeff Fenech thre in the towel midway through the fourth round.

Tszyu looked calm and in control from the get go showing improvement and an extra edge.

Tszyu is the son of Soviet-born Australian boxer Kostya Tszyu who competed from 1992 to 2005 and held multiple light-welterweight world championships.
