Footy star whose glamorous WAG left him after she became fed up of living in Adelaide wants to go BACK to Melbourne after just one year

  • But she left to move to Dubai as she couldn’t bear living there

Ivan Soldo, the Port Adelaide star who was left by the game’s ‘hottest WAG’, has requested a trade away from the club after his girlfriend left him because she couldn’t bear living in South Australia.

Chelsea Beciveric gave up her glamorous lifestyle in Melbourne to follow her then boyfriend Soldo to the City of Churches last November when he was traded from Richmond to Port Adelaide.

However, she proved the novelty of living in ‘Radelaide’ had well and truly worn off, taking to Instagram six months later to announce that she was moving to Dubai to start a new life working for an airline.

Responding to questions from her followers, the 23-year-old said she has ‘always wanted to work for Emirates, live in Dubai and travel the world. So that’s exactly what I’m gonna do’.

Asked if she was taking anyone with her, Becirevic replied, ‘Doing this one solo. Never moved anywhere by myself so will be good to gain some independence.

‘I’ve always wanted to move overseas, so I think it’ll be an exciting new chapter for me.’

While stressing she and Soldo have no issues, she did reveal, ‘He had to move to Adelaide for his career and tbh it’s been a struggle for me.

‘It [living in Adelaide] is just not for me permanently,’ she added, followed by a black heart emoji.

‘Temporarily it’s fine. But long term in aus I think Melbourne or Gold Coast are for me… maybe even Syd.’

According to the AFL’s official website, Soldo is seeking an escape route from Port Adelaide and has requested a trade from the club.

Melbourne-based outfit St Kilda are reportedly interested in acquiring the ruckman, who played just eight senior games for the Power this year.

Footy journalist Callum Twomey posted on X: ‘Soldo didn’t settle into living in Adelaide and after a year is keen to get back to Melbourne. The Saints can partner him with Rowan Marshall as a point of difference.’

Back when she announced her departure for Dubai, a follower asked how Soldo was taking the news.

Becirevic showed her sense of humour by posting a photo of him facing the corner of a lift with his hands down by his sides accompanied by the words ‘surprisingly taking it really well’.

She also wrote that they plan to keep their relationship going ‘long distance for a while’ and have him travel with her in the off-season, but also admitted they’ll struggle with his inability to visit her before Port’s campaign ends later this year.

Becirevic’s worries about Adelaide were foreshadowed when the biomedical science student first announced the move last November, shortly after she turned heads and announced herself as one of Australia’s hottest WAGs when she and Soldo attended Richmond’s best and fairest awards.

‘Tbh [to be honest] can’t say I ever thought I would ever move to Adelaide,’ she wrote.

‘I’ve never even been to Adelaide before so I actually have no idea what to expect … and I hear so many mixed reviews.’
