  • The issue affects around 30,000 Mazdas and 90,000 Ford throughout country 

Ford and Mazda are recalling up to 120,000 utes over brake issues.

The Ford Ranger and Mazda BT-50 share the same brakes and engines – and models between 2016 and 2018 are potentially unsafe.

The danger is that flexible brake hoses may split or that metal brake calipers may crack.

The issue may affect around 30,000 Mazdas and 90,000 Fords. 

The companies will contact owners to call their cars in for inspection.

They will replace any faulty parts for free.
