The Fiesta, which has sold more than 16million worldwide since being launched in 1976, came top of a list of the ten most stolen, accounting for 12 per cent of all car thefts.

The car is one of the most popular in the UK, with sales of just under 375,000 new and used Fiestas in 2018 alone, making it one of the most common cars on the road.

Ford Transit vans were the second most targeted, accounting for 10 per cent of all car thefts, while VW Golfs ranked third, comprising 7 per cent of thefts, the list compiled by online retailer Car Parts 4 Less showed.
