Former Home and Away star Bec Hewitt set to ‘head back to Hollywood’ as tennis WAG gives acting ‘one last big push’

Tennis WAG Bec Hewitt could be planning to return back in front of the cameras.

The former Home and Away star, 41, is rumoured to be considering ‘one last big push’ for success in Hollywood, according to Woman’s Day.

Bec reportedly became inspired to return to acting after attending the Wimbledon championships, where she and husband Lleyton, 43, sat in the Royal Box surrounded by the likes of Kate Middleton, Tom Cruise, Benedict Cumberbatch and Julia Roberts.

‘It was the biggest hint of all that she’s dreaming of a career comeback after years of playing second fiddle to her husband,’ a source told the publication.

The insider said Bec has more free time on her hands now that her children Mia, 18, Cruz, 15, and Ava 13, are older, and another tilt at acting would be prefect timing for her.

They also claimed that making it in Hollywood was Bec’s ‘holy grail.’

She first came to national attention back in 1998 when she landed the plum role of Hayley Smith on long-running soap Home and Away.

Bec quickly became a fan favourite, picking up a Most Popular Actress Logie in 2005 but coincidentally fell pregnant within months of her soap character and left the series to be a full-time mum.

Aside from a stint on Dancing With The Stars and hosting Channel Nine travel show Helloworld in 2018, Bec has largely stayed away from the camera.

More recently though she dipped her toe back into the acting waters in the soon-to-be-released Australian thriller 13th Summer alongside Georgie Parker and Nathan Phillips.

The insider claimed that while she loves to act on home soil, limited opportunities in Australia mean she’s keen to make her mark in Tinseltown.

‘She’s realised she’s still got plenty of gas left in the acting tank,’ they added.

It was also claimed that Bec is keen to nab a role on a popular US soap, using that as ‘security’ while she explores bigger acting opportunities in the US.

‘She could even convince some of the longest running shows like Days of Our Lives to write a new Aussie character into their story-line – that would give her a little bit of security while exploring the US market,’ the insider added.

It comes after reports suggested late last year that Lleyton and Bec are planning on turning their tabloid fame into TV gold.

The glamour couple was supposedly inspired by David and Victoria Beckham’s Netflix docu-series, and hope to replicate its success with their own tell-all TV show.

‘Bec is very organised and has awesome home videos, and I know in the past they’ve thought of doing something like this,’ a friend of the couple told New Idea.

‘They’ve watched Netflix’s David Beckham series and loved it, and I’m sure it got them thinking.’
