Former marine, 39, ‘sexually assaulted girl, five, at a wedding reception’

Jeff Boulter, 39, has been charged after allegedly exposing himself to a five-year-old girl at a wedding reception in May

A former marine has been charged with sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in a ‘dark corner’ at a wedding reception.

Jeff Boulter, 39, allegedly dragged the young girl to a dark corner before exposing himself to her, police told the Santa Clarita Valley Signal after his arrest in May.

‘[Boulter] was at the reception and he led the five-year-old child, a girl, to a secluded area and exposed himself to the child,’ Sergeant Brian Hudson said.

A statement from the District Attorney’s Office claims he was seen by a server at the party in Valencia, who came to confront him.

Boulter, who is seen wearing a wedding ring in some Facebook photos, allegedly fled the reception moments later.

The 39-year-old is charged with kidnapping to commit oral copulation, kidnapping for child molesting, kidnapping a victim under age 14, lewd act upon a child, forcible lewd act upon a child and attempted forcible oral copulation of victim under 14 years.

Boulter is being held at the Twin Towers Correction Facility on $1 million bail.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges on Thursday, and will return to the Los Angeles County Superior Court on July 31.

If convicted, Boulter faces a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison.

The charges are a far cry from Boulter’s previous achievements.

A former marine, who launched a startup men’s grooming company, Sir Brilliant, Boulter was hailed as one winner of a 40 under 40 competition in the Long Beach Post in 2016.

He told the paper his grooming business operated on the premise that a man who took care of himself was more likely to help take care of his city.

Boulter alluded to mentoring programs and the article praised him as a man who donated bone marrow, helped the homeless and cleaned up the beaches.

When told he had won a place in the top 40 out of hundreds of applicants, Boulter said he was uncomfortable in the spotlight – something he may need to get used to as his case prepares to go to trial.

‘I am not great at being in the spotlight and receiving awards,’ he said about his award.

‘But for the recognition this might bring to the thought of helping our great city I take it with pride, pride in the people that make this city amazing.’
