Former My Kitchen Rules star Zana Pali details her terrifying breast cancer scare as she prepares to have surgery
Zana Pali has revealed her terrifying ordeal after discovering a suspicious lump in her left breast.
In an emotional post on Instagram on Thursday, the 30-year-old former My Kitchen Rules star revealed she will undergo surgery next week to have the tumour removed.
Sharing a photo of her breast X-ray and medical report, Zana said she was still undergoing a series of tests and scans.

‘This is my 1.5cm tumour which presented as highly suspicious for malignancy. Clinically speaking that means there is a very high chance that you have cancer and all we could do was pray that it hadn’t spread,’ she began.
Zana said the discovery had left her terrified that she wouldn’t be around to see her two young sons grow up.
The former reality star shares Leonardo, three, and Romeo, one, with her husband, Gianni Romano.

‘I can’t even begin to explain to you how much I’ve cried and how quickly my world turned upside down,’ she continued.
‘I couldn’t even look at my children without breaking down into tears, thinking that they may grow up without a mother.
‘You try to stay positive but it’s hard and then Google sends you into a further spiral.’

The tumour turned out to be non-malignant, meaning it isn’t cancerous, but Zana will still have it removed.
‘After so many tests and indicators pointing to cancer, today I received the biopsy results and by some absolute miracle it has come back as NON Malignant,’ she continued.
‘I am so so lucky that I can have this tumour surgically removed and will be OK. EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES.

‘I’m not 100% out of the woods yet as the MRI has found another tumour however, it’s presenting as less likely than cancer so I’m hoping that it too will be non malignant.
‘One more biopsy left then surgery next Friday to have these removed!’
Zana said she was sharing her story to urge other women to get their breasts checked, and admitted she’d ‘neglected it completely during Covid’.
‘I can’t even begin to explain to you how much I’ve cried and how quickly my world turned upside down,’ she wrote
She added: ‘I really am one of the lucky ones and I thank God for giving me this second opportunity at life. I will never take another day for granted.’
In a separate post on Instagram Stories on Thursday, Zana urged all women to get checked ‘regardless of your age’.
‘I have a bit of a bumpy road ahead but I’m staying positive and praying everything is all OK. One more biopsy and MRI to go and then surgery all booked in for next week,’ she wrote.
