Former NFL kicker reveals plan to help Donald Trump win key swing state in the election

Long-time NFL kicker and ‘NFL on CBS’ analyst Jay Feely is voicing his support for Donald Trump’s bid for the Oval Office.

‘If you look at Donald Trump and you do it objectively,’ Feely told OutKick’s Dan Dakich, ‘and you just look at his three or four years in office, really three years prior COVID, and you look at any objective measure compared to four years of the Biden-Harris administration, and you talk about the things that matter to people at home, you talk about the economy, you talk about safety, you talk about shelter, their home, the border, the economy, the things that matter to the people at home, by every objective measure Donald Trump did a better job than the Biden-Harris administration.’

Feely once played golf with Trump in 2020, calling it an ‘honor’ at the time, but he isn’t supporting the Republican candidate due to any personal relationship. Instead, the retired Arizona Cardinals player insists that Trump’s policy proposals put him ahead of the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz ticket.

Most significantly, Feely thinks he can help Trump win back Arizona, where the 48-year-old Florida native has lived with his wife since his days with the Cardinals. Trump famously lost Arizona to Biden in 2020 by 10,457 votes – a state the Republicans had won in 15 of the previous 16 presidential elections.

Four years earlier, Trump beat Hillary Clinton in Arizona by 91,234 votes.

AJ Feely is a regular on CBS’ NFL coverage and remains an outspoken supporter of Trump

The difference, in Feely’s eyes, is that Republicans were better represented at the polls in 2016, which is why he’s urging his fellow party members to recommit to voting in 2024.

‘There’s over 200,000 registered Republicans in Arizona that didn’t vote in the last presidential election,’ said Feely, a married father of five. ‘If half of those people vote … just half the registered Republicans in Arizona, [Trump] wins the state of Arizona.

‘It holds true in each of those swing states as well,’ Feely continued. ‘So people who are registered Republicans, they just need to get out and vote for Donald Trump. I don’t understand to me, how you wouldn’t because the two parties have never been further apart.’

Feely is also calling for a more civil political discourse in the country, although he stopped short of mentioning recent assassination attempts against Trump.

Instead, the CBS broadcaster expressed his desire to see people discuss policy issues in public without being tainted by their beliefs.

‘I think we should be able to talk about politics and who we like without people casting stones, without saying ‘oh were going to cancel somebody,” Feely said. ‘If you’re liberal and you believe in a certain politician, you should be able to talk about that, express your beliefs. If you like Trump, you should be able to express your beliefs.

‘Hopefully we can get back to that someday.’
