Former NFL QB predicts Tom Brady will come out of retirement to play for the Miami Dolphins after Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion

A former NFL quarterback has predicted the fates of both the concussed Tua Tagovailoa and retired football legend Tom Brady after the Miami Dolphins quarterback was injured on Thursday night.

Tagovailoa suffered his third diagnosed concussion of his NFL career in a loss to the Bills, which was also his third concussion since the beginning of the 2022 season.

Due to the frequency of his concussions, and the increased awareness of their long-term effects, some have called on Tagovailoa to step away from football permanently.

Devlin Hodges believes Brady’s time in the broadcast booth will soon come to an end, as he unretires for the second time to play for the Dolphins.

The 47-year-old Brady has not expressed any desire to return to the NFL as he just began his 10-yera, $375million broadcasting contract with Fox to be the network’s top color commentator.

This concussion for Tagovailoa came when he went head-first into a collision with Buffalo defensive back Damar Hamlin.

Brady coming out of retirement for a seconds time has been constantly teased by him and others since he hung up his shoulder pads for the final time last year.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner’s first retirement with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022 only lasted 40 days.

Brady has been connected with coming out of this stint of retirement for the New York Jets when Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles last year and after Kirk Cousins suffered a similar injury for the Minnesota Vikings.

It is unclear if Tagovailoa will miss any time with his third concussion, although he is heavily expected to be out of action for multiple weeks.

Should Tagovailoa not play in the Dolphins next game against the Seahawks, his backup, Skylar Thompson, is expected to be the starter instead of head coach Mike McDaniel going to the free-agent market for someone to run his offense.

Hodges has not played in an NFL game since 2020, but did win the Walter Payton Award, the FCS equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, in 2018.
