An 88-year-old former policeman has been left with shocking injuries after he bravely tried to fight off two teenager robbers who stole his car.
Dave Hills, was at home in Wongan Hills, Western Australia when he got a knock at the door on Sunday evening.
He opened it to find two teenagers standing on his porch. When one of them said: ‘I want your car keys,’ he tried to shut the door, but they pushed it open.

One teenager than bashed him in the head with some kind of metal weapon, giving him a nasty cut which bled heavily on to his floor.
The other teenager sneaked in through the back of the house and stole the keys to his 1993 Ford Falcon Sedan.
The teenagers then drove away, leaving Mr Hills with shocking bruises on his arm and foot from the struggle at the door and a nasty cut on his head.
‘He whacked me in the head. It felt like he had a piece of steel in his hand, you know,’ Mr Hills told 9News.
‘And that cut my head and blood was coming out, plenty of blood coming out all over the place.’
But Mr Hills remained in good spirits, joking: ‘I’m a pretty solid character’.
Police, who found Mr Hills’ car abandoned one kilometer away, have charged two boys, 13 and 14, with aggravated robbery and home burglary and aggravated unlawful wounding.
