Former White Sox pitcher Daniel Webb dies in ATV accident

Former Chicago White Sox pitcher Daniel Webb tragically died in an ATV accident on Saturday in Tennessee.

Webb, 28, was riding on Dry Creek Road in Humphreys County when his ATV hit an object in the woods, causing it to rollover, WKRN reported. Webb reportedly broke his neck. 

Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis confirmed that Webb was killed, but did not reveal further details into the accident. 

Davis said it was a ‘tragic accident, and we should rally around the family.’

Webb, who was born in Paducah, Kentucky, recently got married to Melissa in March (together above) and had a baby girl in August

Authorities said three others were also injured and hospitalized – one being Webb’s new wife, WKRN reported.

The athlete spent four seasons playing for the Sox organization and came out of the bullpen as a reliever in 94 games from 2013 to 2016. 

He was released by the team in November 2016 and had been a free agent.

The popular MLB team issued a statement about his untimely death.   

‘Daniel left many friends within the Chicago White Sox organization and we are all shocked and stunned by the news of last night’s terrible accident,’ the statement reads.
