Four cyclists were injured on Saturday in California when a pickup struck slammed into the group and took off without stopping.
The suspected driver was arrested 12 hours after the incident at a home in Novato, California. His name has not yet been released.
The cyclists were participating in a charity ride in Marin County when the pickup intentionally swerved into them and sped away, according to a Facebook post from the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP posted about the incident seeking the public’s help in finding the suspect. When the suspect was arrested, they posted a photo of the back of his head to Facebook.
‘We are grateful to serve a community that looks out for one another,’ the post reads.
‘Often times in situations like this people think they see something but often dismiss it as an unlikely coincidence. When we ask for help we are asking you to disregard that feeling and let us know. Sometimes it’s the smallest detail that leads us to a suspect.’
The riders were part of a larger group participating in the Jensie Gran Fondo charity event.
One of the riders was severely injured and was airlifted to the hospital in Santa Rosa.
The other three were taken by ambulance to a hospital in Greenbrae.
The names and medical conditions of the victims were not immediately released.
The pickup was described as an older model dark-blue Dodge Ram pickup with custom black rims and protruding tires.
The glass of the passenger-side mirror broke and fell out during the collision, and there is likely damage to the right front of the vehicle.
