Four masked robbers storm Sydney family home on Halloween

  • A family in Sydney’s south-west have been terrorised by four armed masked men
  • The masked men broke into the Belmore home around 10pm on Tuesday night 
  • They tied up the family, a man, woman and two teenage girls, before fleeing
  • Police were told one man appeared to be carrying a gun, another a metal pole

Four men wearing Halloween costumes threatened a family with a firearm and a metal pole after breaking into their south Sydney home overnight.

A man, a woman and two teenage girls were tied up and threatened by the masked men at their Belmore home at about 10pm on Tuesday.

One of the men was armed with a gun, while a second man had a metal pole, police said.

The men ransacked the house and stole property before fleeing.

The family were able to untie themselves and called the police.

A crime scene was established at the property and there appeared to be a heavy police presence throughout the night. 

Neighbours told 9News officers were also seen on the street on Saturday night but the reason is unknown.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Campsie Police or Crime Stoppers.
