Four people have been rushed to hospital after they were believed to have been struck by a car in Newport, Wales on Sunday morning. 

Their conditions are not known.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said that they were called at 5.30am on Sunday morning to an incident involving a ‘car versus pedestrians’.

Four ambulances responded to the scene on Cambrian Road, which is located in the city centre. 

Part of the road is now closed.  

Gwent Police has been asked for further details.
