Four’N Twenty launches a butter chicken pie

Australia’s iconic frozen pastry brand Four’N Twenty has launched a new range of chicken pies with a fusion twist.

The butter chicken flavoured pies are made with 100 per cent Australian chicken – complete with an Indian-inspired curry gravy and wrapped in golden pastry.

The new creation is available in a pack of four from supermarket stores across the country for just $6.50, which comes to just $1.62 each.

Those who tried the new pies said it’s an ‘amazing combination’.

‘Butter chicken filled pies are a thing now and it’s bloody delicious,’ Andy, who shares his food reviews under Cheats Meals of Melbourne, wrote on social media.

Others suggested eating the pies with Sriracha hot chilli sauce and yoghurt. 

Another foodie said: ‘We absolutely loved them. Together with the sauces sriracha and a yogurt sauce was just the perfect combo.’

While one added: ‘Butter chicken pies! Who knew these existed? Definitely not me – and boy gosh, I’ve found the best thing since sliced bread.’

Many shoppers said they couldn’t wait to get their hands on them, with some describing the concoction as ‘heaven’ and ‘delicious’.

‘Wow two of my favourite things rolled into one,’ one wrote, while another said: ‘I need this in my life.’

Meanwhile, other shoppers said butter chicken pies have been around for decades.

‘It’s a thing now? Man we’re 50 years behind the pie game,’ one man joked, while another added: ‘New Zealand has been doing butter chicken pies for years.’
