Deliver a baby with no help? What is a free birth

  • Free birth, also known as unassisted birth, is delivering your baby at home without a doctor, midwife, or other trained health professional in attendance.
  • It can endanger the baby and the mother and can even result in death.
  • Unassisted birth is not recommended by medical experts.

In a video shared to TikTok, the mom shared the ‘controversial’ things she does while pregnant.

‘Controversial things I do during pregnancy that upset people – because apparently it’s their body,’ she captioned the video that amassed over 1.3 million views.

She then revealed that she doesn’t use any ‘prenatal care’ and never has ‘ultrasounds or tests’ done.

The 23-year-old also revealed she incorporates cannabis into her pregnancy, although she said she doesn’t smoke it.

In a follow up video, the mom said: ‘Be warned if your wife comes over.

‘I’m gonna teach her how to birth babies alone at home, to not trust the government or doctors and that 99% of the food you eat is poisoning you.’

Kaytlynn also revealed that she gave birth to her first child at a hospital but paid $5,000 in healthcare fees, but the doctors ‘literally did nothing,’ prompting her to try free birthing.

Free birth, also known as unassisted birth, is delivering your baby at home without a  doctor, midwife, or other trained health professional in attendance.

According to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, around 35,000 births occur at home each year with approximately one-fourth of those being unplanned or unattended.

High raw vegan diet: What it is and how sustainable it is?

  • A raw foods diet includes foods in their uncooked or natural state and omits most other foods
  • Although a high raw vegan diet may improve heart health and reduce your risk for diabetes, it’s important check vitamin B12 levels which come from the consumption of animal products while following a raw diet

Doctors do not recommend free birth, with Dr. Vyta Senikas, the former vice president of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada, noted that ‘unassisted childbirth is unsafe – period.’

While the ACOG noted that any type of home birth comes with risks, free birth is particularly unsafe.

Although unassisted birth allows the woman to feel more empowered and have a better sense of privacy, there are many risks to delivering a baby without the help of a medical professional.

It can endanger the baby and the mother and can even result in death.

Research has shown that 10 to 40 per cent of home birth require transfers to a hospital due to complications.

If you are going through with an at home birth, medical experts recommend you have a midwife or other medical professional in attendance.

It is also recommended that you are in frequent communication with an OB-GYN and have an emergency plan in place if any issues occur.

Additionally, according to the American College of Nurse-Midwives, those who are expecting multiples, experiencing preterm labor, have an active herpes infection, preeclampsia, or gestational diabetes, are not good candidates for unassisted for birth.

You should also avoid free birth if you have previously experienced stillbirth, a C-section, or a severe postpartum hemorrhage.

Kaytlynn also stirred up a buzz when she revealed she follows a high raw vegan diet, and that she doesn’t feed her children any meat, or processed food.
