Freshman fake cries as her mom drops her off on first day

Crystal Alexander, 40 of Mesquite, Texas, was driving her incoming freshman daughter J’ia Gladney to her first day of classes. But her teen was not having it.

‘I don’t want to go,’ the 14-year-old cheerleader says putting on her best fake cry. ‘Momma, don’t make me go. Go backwards! Go backwards! Why are you making me do this?’

Alexander tells her theatrical daughter ‘Breath J’ia.’ To which her very upset daughter exclaims: ‘Why you making me do this!?’

Mom’s wise response: ‘Because you must continue on with life.’

The mother of four has now circled the block five times to drop her daughter off in what J’ia deems the most optimal spot possible at John Horn High School.

However, mom has about had it.

They see the door J’ia wants to go to but her mom tells her ‘I think it’s locked.’ To which she replies ‘Ahhhhhh nahhhhhh!!!’

Then J’ia says go to the front, but Alexander is done with her daughter’s antics and says ‘I will not!’

Alexander told ABC News she knew her daughter would calm down once she finally made it into the building.

‘Prior to leaving home, she was amped. She was excited,’ Alexander said. ‘But as we got closer to the school, she started to get panicky and overwhelmed.’

‘J’ia has always been a very theatrical child. I call her my drama child,’ Alexander added.

J’ia says she started growing anxious when they drove by her middle school. ‘That morning I was ready, but when we passed my old school I was like, ”Oh, this is real.”

‘It was a good day,’ J’ia said after all was said and done. ‘I enjoyed lunch and meeting my teachers.’

On their way home from her first big day, mom had to throw in a little I told you so: ‘See? I told you! Nothing to worry about.’
