Furious truck driver repeatedly smashes into van and demolishes telegraph pole in astonishing road rage rampage
- Footage captures explosive road rage between a van and lorry in Santiago, Chile
- Lorry driver Felipe Beltran repeatedly reversed into van lifting it off its wheels
- Meanwhile two men jump out the van and retaliate, attacking with metal poles
Shocking footage shows the moment a lorry driver goes on a road rage rampage smashing into a van and knocking over a telegraph pole after getting into a row with a delivery driver.
Felipe Beltran, driver of the cargo lorry, said he saw red after the smaller van clipped the front of his truck on a narrow road in Santiago, Chile, last Monday at around 7.30pm.
A video captured by a bystander shows the moment Beltran retaliates by ploughing his Chevrolet truck into the van with such force that three of the van’s wheels are lifted off the ground.
The situation then escalates as two men jump out of the van brandishing metal poles, with one thrown like a spear at the lorry cab.
Beltran then reverses backwards, purposefully crashing into the van over and over again and accidentally downing a telegraph pole and a tree in the process.
Beltran said: ‘One of my guys had a disagreement with the driver, and two guys got out brandishing giant metal poles.

‘They broke my rear view mirror and started to throw the poles at my truck, like spears.’
The driver claimed that his explosive reaction was due to feeling threatened by the van drivers, he added: ‘I was scared. They threw a metal pole at my windscreen and it almost hit me. I didn’t know what to do.’
Evelyn Matthei, mayoress of the Providencia district in Chile’s capital said: ‘I can’t believe the madness we’re living through. This is criminal conduct I can’t understand.’
Police arrested both drivers involved.
