Victim: Courtney (Aggy) Tingle, 26, shot dead in Brooklyn in March

An alleged member of the Los Angeles Bloods gang has been charged for the murder of rapper Lil’ Kim’s cousin in March this year.

Daquan Carter, 28, was arrested by police in Brooklyn on Wednesday after a witness picked him out of a lineup as the murderer of Courtney (Aggy) Tingle, 26.

Mr Tingle died after sustaining multiple shots to the chest as he left a baby shower at a catering hall in Washington Avenue, near Dean Street, in Brooklyn, New York at around 10pm on March 22.

Carter is believed to be a Bloods gang member while Mr Tingle had affiliations with the Team Bang out gang, police sources told NY Daily News.

The rapper’s cousin is said to have been arguing with another man at the party before leaving.

Rapper Lil’ Kim took to social media to pay tribute to her cousin shortly after his death writing: ‘It breaks my heart to have to send out this special RIP to my little cousin Aggy who was shot and killed.

‘At times you were so quiet but as soon as you started speaking everyone in the room knew that you were a real riot.

‘You were a halfway comedian but I used to tell you that you need go away to college and get a basketball scholarship. You had so much potential.’

Mr Tingle had one young son and ran a custom drinks business while working in construction.

Speaking to NY Daily News Mr Tingle’s great aunt, Ida Clarke, who raised him as his legal guardian said: ‘He was a good person. Anything he could do for you, he could would do it. Courtney was a maker. He could look at anything and fix it.’

She said the father was due to start a new job in construction the week after the shooting and did not know the man arrested for the murder, adding that she feels for the suspect’s family.
