Gang of teen thugs bash autistic boy in Sydney

Confronting footage has emerged of an autistic boy being viciously attacked and robbed by a gang of teen thugs – for their own ‘fun and entertainment’.

The 15-year-old, who suffers from severe autism, was set upon by a group of larger boys at Westpoint shopping centre in Blacktown in Sydney’s west.

After being shoved and punched by one of the hoodlums, the victim looks down at his phone, unaware that worse is yet to come.

As the camera rolls another youth comes flying from behind him, taking a long run-up before launching a powerful blow at his hapless target, A Current Affair reported.

The force of the blow smashes the autistic teen’s head into the bench behind him and sends his phone clattering into the ground.

When asked why the thugs carried out the brutal assault the boy replied: ‘for fun and entertainment.’

The boy’s heartbroken mother says it was the fourth time her son had been attacked by bullies, leaving him suffering blackouts and seizures.

‘They took it upon themselves to make it their mission to just belittle him when he was just trying to be like every other teenager,’ she said.

‘For me to see his body elevate from the ground and be thrown across onto a seat and hear his head smash onto the seat is an image I cannot get out of my head.’

She said her son had even talked about ending his own life, and his disability means he finds it hard to pick up on social cues.

She also has a message for the bullies and their parents.

‘I hope they see this and know that the path they are on is a path of destruction,’ she said, saying she hopes they don’t end up as adult criminals.

One teenager will appear in court over the attack after being charged with assault, while two others were cautioned.
