Gary Neville has praised Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher for making a ‘world class’ save to prevent Chelsea’s Cole Palmer from scoring in the Carabao Cup final.
With the game goalless at Wembley, Chelsea pushed forwards, with the ball eventually falling to Palmer, who was denied by a superb stop from Kelleher.
Neville criticised Raheem Sterling for not shooting immediately but was full of praise for Kelleher for his reaction to Palmer’s effort.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said: ‘What a save. What a save from Kelleher.
‘Chelsea out of nowhere. Robertson for some reason goes charging into midfield, Van Dijk can’t get across.

‘Raheem Sterling you think has got to hit that first time, why has he not?
‘But it falls to Cole Palmer, he just tries to sweep it into the near post, but Kelleher, it’s wonderful.
‘He’s got a world class goalkeeper in front of him but he’s delivered a world class moment there.’
There was also plenty of praise for Kelleher’s save on social media, with Joey Barton writing: ‘What a save from Kelleher’.

Another tweet read: ‘Kelleher. World class save. Alisson would be proud.’
Kelleher has often featured for Liverpool in the League Cup and scored the decisive penalty in the shootout against Chelsea as Jurgen Klopp’s side won the 2022 final.
