‘One of the most Tottenham things you will see,’ ex-Man United star Neville said on Sky Sports after Forster’s second error.

‘United can smell blood, but oh dear Fraser, he thinks he has an age, but Amad closes down with amazing tenacity.

‘It is brilliant from Amad, but so bad from Spurs and it is a massive 20 minutes now for them and are United now favourites?

‘Two awful mistakes from Forster, they really are and Spurs would have known they were not safe at 3-0, they never are.’

Tottenham briefly restored their two goal cushion after an error from Man United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir allowed Son Heung-min to score directly from a corner.

Johnny Evans pulled a goal back following a corner in stoppage time to reduce the deficit again to 4-3, but Tottenham ultimately were able to hold on to reach the semi-finals.

‘What a strange game if football, mistakes galore, goalkeepers all over the place and Spurs come through in the end,’ Neville added.

‘You felt arriving this evening it was a big night for Postecoglou and Spurs and maybe that just got them over the line in the end.’

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp added Tottenham had provided a ‘a masterclass in how not to see a game out’ despite reaching the last four.

‘First of all, big result for Tottenham gets them into the semi-final, but absolutely crazy,’ Redknapp added.

‘But how often do we see it with them? I mean, the manager, I don’t know how he does it. At times, he might be pulling his hair out, but he’s got to do more.

‘It was absolute madness at times, but the chaos was so enjoyable.’
