The Mulberry House Estate in Canford Cliffs is made up of three houses and overlooks the millionaires’ row of Sandbanks in Poole, Dorset
The main house is a grand five-bedroom mansion and boasts an impressive atrium in its entrance room. The mansion replaced a big but tired 1920s house and was built seven years ago
The triple garage has a self-contained one-bedroom flat above it and is set to the side of the main house. It is topped by a small clock tower with a weather vane
Hampton House is the second property on the estate and still sizable at 4,426 sq ft. It is made up of five bedrooms and is still ‘bigger than your average home,’ according to estate agents Savills
The main house has quirky features including a games room, a formal dining room, a master bedroom suite with two dressing rooms, an en suite bathroom and a private terrace, a TV room and a gym and dance studio
It also has an outdoor swimming pool with opulent pool house and backs on to an exclusive golf club where former football manager Harry Redknapp is a member.
Canford Cliffs is less showy than its well-known neighbour Sandbanks but still has the stunning sea views and seclusion as the famous peninsula.
Estate agents Savills say the sale is a ‘unique opportunity’ as Mulberry is the only private estate in the area.
The three houses are set within 2 acres of land and the estate was built about six years ago by the current owner to replace the early 20th century house that was there before.
The main house is a Regency-style mansion with 12,410 sq ft of accommodation.
The Regency-style mansion covers 12,410 sq ft of accommodation. A long driveway leads up to the house through a thicket of trees
One of the kitchens is a large open plan kitchen/dining/family room and is 62ft long. ‘Most people could happily live in just that room,’ Keith Fensom, from Savills said
The games room in the main house has a large pool table. It also has a bar and chairs, with a faux bulls head hanging off the wall
Another angle of the games room shows a spacious lounging area behind the king-sized pool table. The windows look out on to the many gardens surrounding the property
The theme of the wall-mounted bulls head continues into a dining room at the front of the house. The floor to ceiling windows offer views down the driveway
Classy interiors continue the colonial theme. The three houses are set within 2 acres of land and this dining room – with its large windows – look out on to parts of the wooded estate
A private outdoor terrace is the perfect place for entertaining guests, with it big enough for two sets of tables and a neat hedge separating it from the rollings lawns
The heated swimming pool in the gardens has a water slide and four sunbeds to lounge on. There is also a walled garden, a stone fire pit and a hot tub in the gardens
It includes a reception hall, sitting/games room, drawing room, a large open plan kitchen/dining/family room, a formal dining room, study, a master bedroom suite with two dressing rooms, an en suite bathroom and a private terrace, a further four bedrooms, all with en suites, a TV room and a gym and dance studio.
Hampton House is still a sizable property with 4,426 sq ft of accommodation made up of five bedrooms and Little Berry, the original gate house, which has two bedrooms.
There is also a triple garage with a self-contained one-bedroom flat above and a pool house with a kitchenette and bathroom.
The entrance to the estate has towering white gates and a wall to keep it private. It also has a gate house (pictured through the gates) which is called Little Berry and has two bedrooms
The back of the mansion is just as grand as the front. There are two balconies to the rear of the house which off up long views over the gardens
Included in the rest of the mansion is a reception hall, sitting room, drawing room, a large open plan kitchen/dining/family room, a master bedroom suite with two dressing rooms, an en suite bathroom and a private terrace and a further four bedrooms, all with en suites
One of the numerous bathrooms contains a wide bath, a rain shower, a chandelier and enough space to fit another bathroom in
A darker living room sits next to the thicket of trees that surround parts of the country estate by the sea
The darker lighting continues to another living room near the forest, but it is brightened up by its cream-coloured interior and large windows
The gardens include walled gardens, a stone fire pit, a heated swimming pool and a hot tub.
Keith Fensom, from Savills, said: ‘In this area we generally deal with urban town properties. To have a country estate in Canford Cliffs is unique, this is the only one I know of.
‘It was built about six or seven years ago to replace a big but tired 1920s house. It needed updating and was probably undersized for the plot.
‘The previous owner had got permission for a block of flats but this owner decided it was perfect to build the family house they wanted.
But it is much brighter upstairs in the bedrooms. This double-bed twin room open out on to one of the balconies at the back of the property
Another bedroom features a large wardrobe, space to lounge around in on the sofa as wlel as a wall mounted bracket for a television
‘It’s a huge property. Hampton House, the secondary property, is about 4,500 sq ft, which is bigger than the average home.
‘But in comparison to the main home, that feels tiny. The mansion is beautifully fitted out, the finish is spectacular.
‘The doors and ceilings are really high, the kitchen is the nicest I have ever seen. That kitchen/family room is bigger than most people’s houses – it’s about 62ft long. Most people could happily live in just that room.
A helicopter shot shows the expansive, private estate and how it backs on to an exclusive golf club where former football manager Harry Redknapp is a member
A floormap of the estate on Lawrence Drive shows the vast expanse of the three houses includes in the price tag of £9million
‘If you compare it with Sandbanks – we might sell a property for £8million but you’re very close to your neighbours and don’t have this much space.
‘With this you get a lot for your money.
‘If you want something that’s unique, a country estate by the sea, this is the only one of its type.’
He added: ‘I think it could appeal to someone in the public eye that wants that privacy and seclusion.’
