Gay anarchist squatters reportedly scrawled rebellious slurs and symbols on the brick walls of the former headquarters for Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras organisers before it was demolished.
The group appear to have moved in to the dilapidated warehouse in Petersham, in Sydney’s inner west, after it was abandoned eight years ago, according to The Australian.
Images published by The Daily Telegraph columnist Miranda Devine on Tuesday show the inside of the now demolished building.

A two-metre mural of a police car on fire was painted on a nearby wall.
‘F*** marriage, we want revenge!’ and ‘You only gave us rights when we gave you riots! Queer power,’ was written in another room, which housed a circle of chairs.
Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Staff left the warehouse in July 2009 after using the facility for more than six years.
Organisers told The Australian they were surprised to see the condition of the building shown in the pictures and that they didn’t know what had happened after they moved out.
The new Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras headquarters is now located in Darlinghurst.
