GB News’s Simon McCoy and his ex-Dynasty actress fiancée Emma Samms post apparent marriage snap

GB News presenter Simon McCoy and ex-Dynasty actress Emma Samms appear to have tied the knot.

Emma today posted a snap of the couple on social media in wedding outfits with the words: ‘Yesterday was a very good day’, alongside the hashtag #MrandMrs, sparking a torrent of congratulations from family, friends and fans.

It comes after Simon, 59, confirmed to Daily Mail’s Richard Eden back in September the pair had got engaged and were ‘both so happy’, with the couple’s children supportive of the match.

Emma looked vibrant in a white, long-sleeved gown as she held a colourful bouquet by her waist, while Simon could not contain his joy, beaming down at his bride with a toothy grin in classic black suit and light blue tie.

It is the fourth marriage for Emma, 61, who has two children with her third husband John Holloway, and the third marriage for Simon who split from BBC South West star Victoria Graham in January 2019.

Simon is known for his witty presenting style and recent move to GB News from the BBC, saying that he was ‘not a leftie BBC journalist’.

He was one of the BBC’s best-known presenters, working across shows like BBC News, News at One, at Six, at Ten and the Weekend News.

Emma meanwhile found fame for her performance in General Hospital before playing Fallon Carrington on soap opera Dynasty.

Fans quickly took to social media and flooded Emma’s posts with well wishes and messages of congratulations.

One fan wrote: ‘Two of the most lovely people. So so happy for you both. All my love xxx’

Another contributed: ‘Absolutely stunning. Such a beautiful, perfectly fitting, demure dress. Congratulations on your special day and wishing you many years of happiness with your beloved.

A third person posted: ‘Congratulations to Mr and Mrs McCoy. Emma, he’s a catch!’, while a fourth follower commented: ‘Looking like a fabulous couple. Many congratulations.’

Emma divorced her previous husband, psychiatrist John Holloway, in 2003. Her other husbands, Bansi Nagji and Tim Dillon, were both lawyers.

The couple live at the London-born actress’s home in the Cotswolds, from which Emma often shares idyllic shots of their countryside life on Instagram including luscious flora and snaps of home grown veg.

A recent image shows a ‘nosy neighbour’ of a cow peeping into her garden from a nearby field, while another shows a ‘quintessential country lane’ and rose bushes.

But there’s still a good dollop of glitz and glam with the country life, with Emma showing luxurious trips to Paris and tea parties at castles.

Emma’s daughter Micha, 22, is the spitting image of her mother and has also inherited her brainy side.

She’s recently graduated with a degree in financial mathematics from Cardiff University, where she was also on the cheerleading squad.

But Micha isn’t the only brainbox in the family, her first-born Cameron, 24, has just graduated from St Andrews School of Medicine.

Meanwhile, Simon shares son Max, 28, with his first wife.

He later married BBC South West star Victoria Graham, 46, who he divorced in January 2019.

The couple had several attempts at IVF but never had children together.

After finding fame on General Hospital, Emma cemented her status as as a soap legend after bagging the role of Fallon Carrington Colby on cult hit Dynasty, where she starred alongside Joan Collins.

She later moved back to the UK, where she had a regular role of BBC lunchtime show Doctors.

A sex symbol of the 80s, she has twice declined offers to appear in Playboy.

Simon meanwhile started of his career as a researcher for Thames TV.

He then moved to Sky News as a presenter where in 1991 he became the channel’s royal correspondent, before becoming an anchor notably covering the Iraq War in the early noughties.

In 2004, he moved to BBC Breakfast and BBC News 24, where he often went viral for his lack of enthusiasm about royal stories.

The veteran journalist has made several infamous gags and on-air gaffes. Once he was so desperately annoyed by a news segment on a dog surfing competition, he sighed his way through the report.

Covering the birth of Prince George, in 2013,  while stationed outside the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital, he made headline after defeatedly reporting: ‘ The news is there is no news’.

Later that year, during a live broadcast he inadvertently picked up a refill pack of A4 printer paper instead of his iPad while presenting to camera, again becoming a viral sensation.

This year, he moved to GB News to present an afternoon show.

Since starting at GB News, Simon has continued to make headlines. Most recently he apologised after laughing out loud live on air at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s statement about the Afghanistan crisis.

The host chuckled when his co-presenter Kirsty Gallacher said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been left ‘speechless’ by the chaos.

Simon who has become known for his unenthusiastic delivery of royal news, said that ‘only they would break their silence to tell us they are speechless’.

He is also known for his sarcastic commentary of royal events, including urging BBC viewers to ‘clear their diaries’ for the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child Louis, adding that people should ‘get the time off – because that’s what I’m doing’. He also couldn’t stop giggling when Kate’s sister Pippa had her first child.

On another occasion the journalist reported that the Queen had been forced to cancel garden parties at Buckingham Palace, saying with sass: ‘It may affect you, but it doesn’t affect me.’ Once he cried with laughter during a feature on a pianist who played for monkeys in Thailand.

Simon’s ex Victoria has also found love since the split, with another BBC colleague Jon Gripton, who was her editor at the Spotlight news programme for South-West England.

Victoria told Richard Eden: ‘It’s been an incredibly sad time. After years of living apart, failed fertility treatment and the death of my father, life changes.’

She added: ‘Every time I see Simon on the TV I feel tremendously proud his career goes from strength to strength.

‘We remain very good friends and still have two beautiful border terriers to love between us.’
