Gearbox issue costs Broc Feeney and Jamie Whincup a Bathurst podium

Broc Feeney’s Red Bull Camaro has suffered a gearbox issue, costing him a spot on the Bathurst podium.

Disaster struck for Feeney in the last 30 laps of The Great Race with the number-88 driver spotted slowing on Conrod Straight on lap 137.

The Red Bull driver and co-driver pulled straight into the team garage, entirely skipping the pit lane stop.

He and co-driver/team leader Jamie Whincup have spent the race consistently in the top three positions.

Feeney wowed at the Top 10 Shootout on Saturday, recording a 2:04.754 lap and holding onto a tentative pole position before the final driver, Kostecki, beat his time.

Feeney rejoined the track on lap 143 but pitted again one lap later.
