Gemma Atkinson admits she has no idea what her Strictly fiancé Gorka Márquez gets up too when he works away for five weeks: ‘Who knows where he is?’

Gemma Atkinson has admitted she has ‘no idea’ what her fiancé Gorka Márquez gets up too when he works away for five weeks.

The mother-of-two, 39, spoke about their long-distance relationship as she returned to work on her radio show after maternity leave on Wednesday.

The Strictly Come Dancing professional, 33, who is reportedly confirmed to return to the BBC show later this year, tends to stay away a lot due to work commitments.

Gemma is left to juggle her own work schedules as well as look after their children Mia, four, and Thiago, 10 months.

And giving in a glimpse into their relationship, Gemma revealed she barely knows where Gorka when he works away.

Speaking on Hits Radio with co-host Mike Toolan, she said: ‘He’s away for five weeks now who knows where, he’s all over the shop.

‘It is tough and it isn’t – it takes a village they say with kids and I’m very fortunate that me Mum and me sister are very close by.’

Gemma outrightly shared she finds it ‘easier’ to get into a routine with the children without Gorka around, admitting he sometimes ‘ruins it’.

She added: ‘It’s all me and Gorka have known, so sometimes it is easier for me to get into the routine with the children whilst he’s not here and then he comes back and ruins the routine.

‘But he’s nice to have around the house!’

It comes after Gemma indadvertedly revealed the pro is returning to the BBC show when it returns later this year.

The mother-of-two accidentally confirmed that Gorka will be returning to the dance floor, but is unsure whether he will have a partner on the show.

While she juggles her own working commitments, Gemma said she has to rely on her parents as Gorka’s family live in Spain.

In a now-deleted post on social media, Gemma explained: ‘Depending on Gorka’s partner and whether he has a partner, depending on where they’re based, he doesn’t know where he is.

‘All the childcare lands on my family because obviously all his family are in Spain.’

A BBC spokesperson said: ‘The professional dancers for 2024 will be announced in due course.’

It comes after Gemma hit back at critics of her long-distance relationship with Gorka on Lorraine in February.

The presenter revealed she is ‘great on her own’ while the Strictly Come Dancing star goes away to work as she likes her own ‘space’ as she continues to hit back at persistent split rumours.
