Gemma Collins issues an apology after causing a ‘massive storm’  with her ‘disgusting’ behaviour in London restaurant

Gemma Collins issued an apology on Tuesday after she caused a ‘massive storm’ with her ‘disgusting’ behaviour in London restaurant.

The former TOWIE star, 43, was browsing houses in Hampstead last month with her pals Jedward and pet dog, when they stopped for breakfast at the Oak And Poppy.

Gemma’s pooch Blu was seen proudly standing on a chair next to her and tucking into a plate of scrambled eggs and sausages.

She said in the clip: ‘He only eats at the table and loves eggs!’

Fans were quick to take to the comment section of the ‘gross’ video as they slammed the reality star for being ‘unhygienic’ and ‘vile’.

Gemma had captioned the Instagram update: ‘The love for dogs in Hampstead is next level the joy and happiness they bring to our lives.

‘Why doesn’t everywhere become more doggie friendly this would be fabulous please let me know all the dog friendly places please.

Addressing the backlash on her new self titled podcast this week, she said: ‘I just couldn’t resist blue having some scrambled eggs off my plate. I love the dog more than myself. It’s taken over my whole life. I’m officially a dog mum.

‘Anyway, it caused a massive, massive storm. And you know, I’ve got to say I do apologise. Yeah, I shouldn’t let the dog eat off my plate in the restaurant.

‘It was a bit over the top, but I just love my dog. And, you know, sorry to anyone that was offended.

‘I didn’t mean to cause any harm whatsoever. I’ve been spending loads of time in Hampstead because it is a dog friendly place and you’re hearing it here first.’

In the comments section of the original clip fans had written: ‘OMG Gemma I am really sorry but that’s disgusting. It’s so unhygienic’.

Another agreed: ‘I’m all for dog friendly places. I have 2 black labs but, I wouldn’t be happy to use plates after a dog has eaten of it, even if they are washed. Just saying.’

‘That’s disgusting, I would never let my dog do that to my own plates, never mind in public!,’ said another.

However not all Gemma’s 2.2million followers disliked the video as others described it as ‘adorable’ and asked what the restaurant was so they could take their dogs.

Gemma was checking out the local area amid considering a move to Hampstead.

If she does move to Hampstead, Gemma will have no shortage of famous neighbours as Ricky Gervais, Helena Bonham Carter and Jonathan Ross all live in the area.
