A designer has gone viral with the prototype reveal of his brilliant ‘Cup-a-Bug’ catching device that efficiently removes bugs and spiders from the home.  

Justin from California, better known as ‘Chubbie Chubbs’, designed the viral TikTok sensation that’s been attracting fans from around the world. 

The Cup-a-Bug uses the classic cup and paper method of bug catching but with a mechanical stick to capture creepy crawlies in a harmless manner.

The genius product works when the Cup-a-Bug is placed on top of an insect or spider and in the click of a button the mechanical base closes to capture the bug. 

Once the bug has been captured the product can be carried outside with ease to release the insect back into it’s natural habitat. 

The genius gadget has been specially crafted to tilt and capture bugs or spiders found in tight corners, on high ceilings and on walls.

Once the bug has been captured the product can be carried outside with ease to release the insect back into it’s natural habitat

The button also features control settings depending on how fast or slow customers would like to close the base to ensure the bug doesn’t get squished. 

‘The lid is tight enough to where [bugs] can’t escape once captured,’ Justin wrote.

Justin has shared viral footage of the Cup-a-Bug successfully capturing flies, spiders, cockroaches, crickets, silverfish and even lizards.

American customers can pre-order the product through the kickstarter campaign, with worldwide orders set to start soon.
