Healthy Mummy founder, Rhian Allen, shared six tips in total to help smoothie lovers save time on preparation and washing up each morning

An organised mum has shared her hack to making mornings easier with pre-prepared smoothies.

Healthy Mummy founder, Rhian Allen, shared six tips in total to help smoothie lovers save time on preparation and washing up each morning.

Put ice cube trays to work

The first hack is to freeze your milk, yoghurt, fruit, juice and even tea in ice cube trays so they are ready to blend immediately.

‘That way you can just grab them from a zip lock bag and throw them in your smoothie.’

Rhian recommends making up a week's worth of smoothie bags at a time so you only have to add milk later

Pre-freeze chunks of fruit

The next hack it to freeze the sliced up fruit you like to add to your smoothie. This will save time chopping everything up in the morning.

This trick also means your less likely to be disappointed when your favourite fruit has failed to ripen enough to be used for breakfast.

And it helps to save fruit from the bin – as soon as they are looking ripe you should chop them and put them in the freezer.

Make a mix jar

The mix jar should have all of the extras you like to add to your morning smoothie.

This can include oats, LSA or chia seeds. Keeping a mix in a jar saves the hassle of opening up each packet every day.

Use a fresh fruit tub

Fresh fruit tubs are perfect for storing cut up chunks of watermelon, kiwi and grapes. The tubs should be airtight and cleaned out weekly.

Having a fresh fruit tub saves the hassle of cutting up each piece of fruit in the middle of the morning rush.

Prepare smoothie bags

This one is for people who like to be super organised. Simply grab a week’s worth of ziplock bags and add everything you like to include in your smoothie, minus the milk.

The team at the Healthy Mummy say the bags make it easier to freeze the smoothies so they are ready to go.

Clean your blender immediately

The last hack is to clean the blender immediately so you aren't detoured  from using it again next time

The sixth hack saves time in the long run.

‘There is nothing like a dirty blender in the sink to turn you off the idea of preparing a healthy smoothie. As soon as you finish blending, give the blender a quick rinse,’ they said.

To wash your blender simply add some dishwashing liquid and warm water, blend, then rinse and allow to dry.
