Geoffrey Moore, 55, shares items of significance in his hotel room in Gstaad

1. Shaken, not stirred

This was my father Roger’s favourite place to go with me, it was our elegant local hang-out where we went for coffee and drinks, and where his last movie The Saint, which I produced, was shot.

He knew the family who own it, and other stars like Elizabeth Taylor came here. This black tuxedo is from when he played 007 in The Spy Who Loved Me.

Roger’s Bond was of another time. He said Daniel Craig’s was a perfect reflection of our time, less gimmicky, more real and much tougher.

2. The spy who cooked

Lord Snowdon took this photo of me and Roger having Champagne about 15 years ago. It was taken in my restaurant Hush in Mayfair.

Roger, his tailor Dougie Hayward and the photographer Terry O’Neill called themselves the orphans of Mayfair.

They would go to Scott’s restaurant, which he loved for the fish. Roger also used to make a great Christmas dinner with amazing chestnut stuffing.

And his mother was born in India, so he was good at curries too.

3. An eye for fashion

Roger designed his own clothes with Dougie in Mayfair. His style was one of the reasons why Fleming wanted him for Bond.

I’m the same size as him so I still wear some of his suits and jackets.

Paul McKenna also has one of the blazers. He hypnotised Roger to lose weight by making him think bread tasted like coriander which he loathed, and it worked

4. Music man

I haven’t touched this guitar since my father passed in May 2017. He gave it to me and taught me how to play it – Jon Pertwee, who had played Doctor Who, had given it to him.

Roger never had proper lessons but he could do some Spanish plucking and play some chords.

He never played guitar in a Bond movie because it wasn’t in character, but this was often in his trailer on set.

5. Playing games Bond producer

Cubby Broccoli and Roger used to play backgammon. They would say they were playing for $25,000 so people would stop to watch.

Actually they were just playing for a dollar. This board was with him in India when filming Octopussy – it folds into a case with Roger’s name on it.

6. A lover, not a fighter

Roger wore this ski jacket and trousers in the opening sequence of A View To A Kill.

He loved skiing, and he used these skis all the time here in the Swiss Alps.

The film had lots of skiing in it, and it was also the first time many people had seen snowboarding.

There’s a scene where Bond manages to disarm a guy on a skidoo.

He loses his skis and straps on a board. He wasn’t allowed to do all of his own stunts, but he always insisted he did all his own love scenes.
