MasterChef judge George Calombaris has banned himself from attending A-League matches.
The Melbourne-based TV personality will have to wait another six weeks to be sentenced over an assault at the A-League grand final in Sydney earlier this year.
He was in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on Friday as a magistrate ordered further documents before sentencing can be arranged.
But outside court, he revealed that he has decided to punish himself by not going to any matches for the next year.

‘As of today, I stand down as the number one ticket holder of the Victory. As a true supporter what I did was wrong, and I need to pay the price,’ he said.
‘I also give myself a ban from all A-League games. As a supporter of sport, what I did was wrong, and obviously I’m very upset for myself.’
Outside court, Calombaris again apologised to his victim.
He also apologised for the impact the incident had on the soccer community and for wasting the time of the NSW police.
‘I’m sure they have bigger fish to fry, if you’ll pardon the pun,’ the chef, dressed in a three-piece suit, told reporters.
Calombaris has pleaded guilty to assault at the soccer decider in May between his Melbourne Victory team and the victorious Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium.
‘It’s an assault in public and I have agreed facts that he approached the victim and punched him in the lower abdomen,’ Magistrate David Price said, adding it was a ‘serious matter’.
Mr Price said the agreed facts stated Calombaris said: ‘You’re a big mouth man, you’re a f**king c***.’

Calombaris, a Victory supporter, also apologised the day after the grand final, saying he was disappointed he had let the heckling of Sydney fans get to him.
‘I was offended by a spectator yelling out abusive and derogatory comments about my family,’ he said in a statement.
The matter was adjourned until October 20 so a pre-sentence report can be organised.
