  • Toves returned to the crash after, ‘dazed and confused,’ police said

A Georgia woman cited for drunk driving told police she was unaware she had been involved in an accident because she was too intoxicated.

The December 12 crash report for Amanda Toves, 25, of Cumming, said she sped through the red light at the intersection of Roswell Road and Windsor Parkway in Sandy Springs.

Toves slammed into another driver who was making a left turn on Roswell Road, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The male driver’s car overturned. He was injured and transported to the hospital, while his condition is unknown.

Toves left the scene of the accident for some time, while the victim in the crash told police her license plate number and details on her appearance.

She returned to the scene soon after – when she claimed she didn’t hear or see the crash at the time.

Toves ‘reeked of alcohol, had slurred speech, couldn’t keep her balance and seemed dazed and confused,’ police said of her state.

Toves was arrested and booked to the Alpharetta Jail after.

Early last week, another drunk driver in Sandy Springs slammed into two patrol cars with officers were inside.

A spokesperson for Sandy Springs police wrote to Facebook: ‘The night shift could have ended a lot worse.’

The patrol cars were severely damaged but the officers were uninjured.
