After weeks of speculation, on Thursday, it was confirmed that Georgie Gardner would be taking over co-hosting duties on Nine’s Today show.
And while reports continue to swirl that her pay will be ‘approaching the $1 million mark’, on Sunday, the 46-year-old revealed she would not be discussing the matter.
Calling it ‘crass’ and ‘unhelpful’, Georgie did however confirm that she was happy with the result of negotiation.

‘I’m of the belief that discussing people’s pay and contracts is crass and unhelpful,’ she told the Sunday Telegraph.
‘I just don’t think it helps anyone. I reached an agreement with Nine that we both deemed fair and I’m very happy and I’m very appreciative.’

The news comes as her predecessor Lisa Wilkinson allegedly walked away from the top job over an equal pay dispute with co-host Karl Stefanovic who’s set to be taking home at least $2 million.
According to The Australian, Georgie is currently sitting on $500,000 with their source reporting her increase was only $250,000, bumping her up to $750,000.

Meanwhile after being confirmed as the show’s new host on Thursday, Georgie told TV Week she was looking forward to being reunited with Karl on-screen.
The Channel Nine personality praised Karl’s ‘huge heart’ and said she expected them to form a strong relationship.
‘Karl really is at the top of his field and while yes, he can be a larrikin, he can sometimes go too far, he can be a loose cannon, all of that, but he is also incredibly entertaining,’ Georgie said.
The popular TV journalist also said she was excited to learn from Karl.
‘He is a consummate presenter of the big breaking news stories, he is so skilled, he has this wonderful ability to get to the essence of the story and disseminate the information live and unscripted like no other, quite frankly,’ Georgie said.
