Get a glimpse of life inside James Packer’s Sydney Harbour Crown Casino tower

Rich-listers have been flocking to buy apartments in Sydney’s newest glittering skyscraper the Crown Casino tower where residents are treated like royalty.

Officially named One Barangaroo and completed in 2021, the 71-storey tower has claimed the title of the Harbour City’s tallest residential building where lucky owners enjoy sweeping views of the CBD, an opulent pool deck, multiple gyms, and a myriad of restaurants, bars and cafes.

Selling agent Knight Frank said this week nearly 90 per cent of the tower’s 82 units have been sold – many with residents already fully moved-in.

Crown’s largest shareholder James Packer himself forked out $72.229million to own one of the units.

Marketing material for the uber-stylish apartments states that: ‘The design and amenities of the residences are matched only by the effortless luxury of our impeccable hotel service, available day and night to every resident’.

The building has a 24-hour resident’s concierge desk located in the cavernous lobby, along with poolside cabana wait staff, gym trainers and housekeeping staff all on the payroll.

An on-site luxury spa which provides an array of beauty treatments and ‘mindfulness training’ is available and those looking to get in shape have access to full-time personal trainers.

Selling agents Knight Frank said one of the most popular spots in the development is the pool deck area where unit owners can relaxing or invite over family, friends or grandchildren.

Premium beers and cocktails can be hand delivered by the cabana staff or there’s gourmet burgers or fresh handmade sushi for those feeling peckish

Apartments owners are also prioritised at any of the complex’s 13 restaurants where they make about 50 reservations weekly.

Crown’s flagship restaurant Oncore – headed by Michelin Star chef Clare Smyth – was in huge demand over the Christmas period but residents had no trouble securing a table.

A recent survey of potential buyers by Knight Frank found that 44 per cent of Australian respondents would be willing to pay a premium to purchase a property in a branded residence development, ahead of the 39 per cent global average (pictured, a freestanding bath with incredible Sydney views)

For residents that wanted a more ‘home-style’ experience over the Christmas season, the team offered tailored festive packages that included 12 to 15 courses of fine-dining in their apartment served by catering staff along with an interior-design makeover to fully ‘set-dress’ the apartment in a welcoming Christmas theme.

The offer proved popular with 16 apartment owners forking out for the package and more have been planned for other holidays such as Easter.

A 24/7 valet service is also offered allowing residents to ‘step out of their car directly into the private resident’s entrance’ while a driver whisks your car away to be washed, detailed and parked.

Housekeeping also isn’t an issue with staff available for anything from ‘a quick freshen up to a seasonal turnover’ of the four, five or six bedroom luxury apartments.

The $100million six-bedroom duplex penthouse spanning three two is still available to buy.

The unit has three private balconies – one with its own plunge pool – three private bars and a separate butler’s kitchen off the main kitchen.

Marketing agent for Knight Frank, Erin van Tuil, said part of the appeal for buyers was that the apartments were a ‘branded residence’ falling under the Crown banner.

The concept of a hotel-branded apartments is growing increasingly popular worldwide with developers and architects aiming to capture the relaxed, sophisticated feel of a five-star hotel.

‘A hotel concierge offers a different service than what you can find in serviced apartments. For example if you want to organise a sommelier or private chef they can do that for you – a normal concierge wouldn’t.’ Ms van Tuil said.
