Terrified mother warns parents after a ‘creep’ tries to BUY her one-year-old son, saying he is a ‘beautiful, blue eyed, blond-haired’ boy as they walked along a street

  • Mother said that the man followed her and asked her ‘how much for the child’ 

A concerned mother has warned parents to be vigilant after a ‘creep’ approached her near a Co-op store and asked to ‘buy her one-year-old son’.

The woman and her child were approached by the man in Gillingham, at around 5.30pm on Friday.

She was stunned when the man asked her ‘how much? how much for the child?’ after telling her ‘how beautiful her blonde haired blue-eyed boy was’.

The horrified mother panicked and ran away from the scene as quickly as she could.

In a Facebook post the mother said: ‘Police have been notified but please, be careful and be safe if you are out by yourself, keep your wits about you! This happened in broad daylight!’

The woman told Mail Online that she has been left deeply shaken by the incident and does not wish to give her name. 

Friends of the woman posted concerned responses to the post.

One said: ‘How scary, what a creep.’

The man is described as wearing jean shorts and a navy t-shirt.  

Kent Police received a report that a woman and her child were approached by a man in Canterbury Street, Gillingham, between 5.30pm and 5.45pm on Friday.

In a statement police said: ‘The man is reported to have been acting suspiciously however no threats were made.

‘Officers are conducting initial enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened.’
