Giovanni Pernice delights fans as he strips to just his towel

Giovanni Pernice left fans hot under the collar as he stripped to just his towel on his new travel show with Anton Du Beke on Tuesday.

Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni, 32, and show judge Anton, 56, left the UK behind to visit Giovanni’s home country of Italy for Giovanni And Anton: Adventures In Sicily on BBC One, which aired on BBC One.

Twinkle-toed star Giovanni was seen giving Anton a tour of the island where he grew up, Sicily, with the pair checking into a beautiful hotel during their stay.

And when Anton went to greet Giovanni the morning after their arrival, Giovanni opened his room door wearing nothing but a white towel.

Viewers of the programme were quick to take to Twitter to express their delight at a shirtless Anton, with one person writing: ‘Oh I say, Giovanni in just a towel.’

Someone else shared: ‘I didn’t realise how much I fancied Giovanni until watching.’

The three-part series sees dancer Giovanni introducing Strictly judge and pal Anton to his beloved home of Sicily.

Giovanni is Anton’s guide as the pair discover what the sensational Mediterranean island has to offer.

The duo will explore everything from traditional food to famous landmarks and will even enjoy a tango or two.

Anton said: ‘When I first heard about this trip it was pretty irresistible. 

‘What’s not to love? It’s all my favourite things, great food, great country and spending time in the sunshine with Giovanni. Marvellous!’

Giovanni agreed, saying: ‘To say this has been a dream project is an understatement! Taking Anton to my much-loved home of Sicily was simply Bellissima!’

‘We danced, we laughed, and had the time of our lives – with great culture, food and company. 

‘I cannot wait for viewers in the UK to come on this journey with us. See you in the Sicilian sun! Ciao, x.’

Anton joined the BBC dancing show from it’s inception from 2004 and was promoted to a full time judge in 2021 and won the coveted Best judge award at last week’s NTAs. 

Meanwhile, Giovanni joined the ranks during the show’s 13th season back in 2015 and the duo have since gone on to tour their Him & Me show together. 

BBC’s Creative Director Mel Balac said:’Viewers will get to see Anton and Gio in a completely different light as we follow them on their road trip across Sicily.’

She continued: ‘Alongside seeing the boys enjoy and experience everything that Sicily has to offer, viewers will also see their amazing friendship grow as they learn new things about one another…including some things that they would probably rather not let anyone know!’
