A devastated four-year-old has begged for heartless thieves to return her adorable Labrador puppy after the dog was stolen from her home.

Ryan Hood’s family returned to their Croydon Hills home at 11:30am on Monday before realising laptops, an iPad and jewellery had been stolen.

Police and the family are now appealing for public assistance to return the Labrador home, after an extensive search of the area.

‘My daughter is devastated, unsurprisingly,’ Mr Hood told Ross and John on 3AW.

He said his daughter was best friends with the eight-week-old pup .

‘She’d go to bed with it every night and we’d have to take her back to her bed.

‘How do you explain something like this a four-year-old?’

Although there is a possibility the pup escaped after the offenders left, police and family suspect she was stolen.

‘She’s not able to be socialised with other dogs so that’s why we are worried at this stage,’ Mr Hood said.

He said she was so young so could be resold but hopes that isn’t the case.
